neither既可用作形容词,也可作不定代词或连词.从意思上说,是both的反义词.
1.作形容词：“两者都不”,直接与单数名词连用.
如：Neither answer is right.两个答案都不对.
2.作代词,与短语连用,意义同上.
eg.Neither of them is right.
以上两种可互换.Neither answrer is right.=Neither of the answers is right.
3.作连词neither...nor...“既不……也不”,连接两同等成份.连接主语时谓语动词的数取决于nor后面的主语.如：
Neither he nor I am a student.
Neither I nor he is a student.
